1. How long does it take to finish a drawing?

​

It really much varies on the piece. Lately I have taken more and more time on them but before I could

finish one in a month and a half. It usually takes 3 or 4 months now. With the large scale ones that is.

Smaller work can take from 2 days to 3 weeks.

 

2. What are you currently working on?

​

I am always working on at least one large scale drawing and a few small ones at the same time. I'm nearly done with a large one (1.5 m x 1.5 m). I also like stepping out of my comfort zone a lot and now I'm finishing a book of short stories, which I have never done before. At the same time I am writing this performance/ theatre/ video piece that I will show next summer and I hope will be about 60 minutes long. Many things at once, my mind kind of wants to work that way. No matter what kind of art I will do in the future, I will always be at the same time working on drawings.

3. Do you listen to music while working?

​

Yes I listen to a lot of different kind of music, though according to Spotify mostly symphonies, opera music and dramatic stuff like that.

I like to listen to podcasts as well and sometimes I even play movies while drawing, though usually something I've seen before.

4. Which artists (or other people) are you inspired by?

​

Goya and William Blake will always be my main bros but I also love Dieter Roth, Martin Kippenberger, Gregor Schneider, Jamian Juliano-Villani, Ragnar Kjartansson, Björk, Andy Kaufman, Dostoevsky, Bach, Kubrick, Cassavetes, Marlene Dumas, Peter Doig and so many more I forget.

 

5. What is your favourite place to see art, online or offline?

​

I like the great museums abroad, most of all modern or classical, doesn't matter, though I see most art online I guess.

 

6. What is the best part of being an artist?

​

I used to want to be a bird when I was younger so I could fly around but now I'd rather be human so I can make art. I don't know if that answers this question but I guess I put making art to a higher value than flying.

​
